So first: confessions:
Crossing the Bar - result of a last minute panic - nothing's going to be finished and everything's so OBVIOUSLY me, quick I need a SHORT idea - and a flip through a poetry anthology. I probably have all the theme coms to thank for the ability to use a quote to trigger a quick idea. It's pretentious and convulutedly metaphorical and needs going over with a scrubbing brush to remove some of the purple... But after nervously rereading it, I think there's a worthwhile idea or two buried in there. So. Not a total shame.
One's Prize, Another's Price - despite not being the one I deliberatly set out to disguise, it ended up being listed in the guessing statistics as one of the 'Stories no one guessed correctly.' And as Crossing the Bar wasn't included, someone at least must have guessed it. I'm not sure exactly what that means... Maybe that I need to completly revise my own perception of my writing?
I, um. Have a confession to make regarding One's Prize, Another's Price. See, it was originally the opening scene to a longer fic... But then I glanced at the clock, screeched, hacked off this bit at a point that sounded a bit like a conclusion, did some swift editing to make it look like a complete fic and slammed it into the inbox.
But despite the heartattacks... I wouldn't have missed this ficathon - or the lovely pile of lovely Hikago fic - for all the ramen in Tokyo. Thank you,
silvermuse89 and
tarigwaemir! Now, do it again? *innocent*
