I'm in the mood for uploading songs. *grin* This one has been sitting in my 12K playlist for ages, and I've always thought of it as Youko to Rakushun. But more and more I've come to think - no. It's Gyousou to Taiki, post-reunion, as he grovels to the kirin as he should.

(Gyousou's personal song is, I firmly believe, Lion King's I Just Can't Wait to Be King.)

The actual song is Arthur to Guinivere, part of the artist's Arthur Cycle, as he asks her to marry him.

Note to self: download tomorrow. XD; Maybe Gyousou should grovel but I'm not sure Taiki would want to be groveled at.

Would be very curious to know what else is on your 12K playlist.

(And congrats on your dissertation, btw!)

No, Taiki wouldn't want that, but I think Gyousou needs to. His big flaw was pride - made worse because most of it was deserved - and it lost him his kingdom. I mean, he had this enormous assumption that he could be King, that he would be good at it - and that was shaken a bit when Taiki didn't accept him immediatly but then he did and all Gyousou's assumptions were validated and he went on to impose them onto his kingdom - until something snapped. "High handed" is a very good word for Gyousou. So a bit of humility, a bit of vulnerability in his approach to Taiki... well, lyrics:

I offer you a look inside, I offer you that trust
I need your strength to help me fight the battles that I must
I need you to remind me of the light we bear within
That there's more to life than struggle and the things we seek to win

I might upload some more of it. At least two of the songs reference unicorns!

(Yay thank you!)

Ah, agreed on the sin of pride--although I still don't think the punishment was proportional to the crime--and I'm wholly in favor of increased humility, openness, even deference (that's not quite the right word) w/r/t Taiki. I do think he'd own his guilt, for sure. Rather than grovel much per se though I suspect G's the type to grimly self-flagellate and drive himself to make things right ASAP. I guess that'd be his version of groveling. And Taiki has his own guilt to grovel about. "It wasn't your fault, it was MY fault." "No, MY fault." "No, MINE."

Lyrics made me go d'awwwww. <3
