Knocking them down one by one
May. 12th, 2006 01:45 pmThere's a special feeling when a piece of work goes clunk in the in box; it's like a weight lifts of your shoulders while simultaneously your stomach sinks to your toys. It's done, it's in, but you can't fiddle with it just one more time anymore...
Given that this piece of work was my Creative Writing Portfolio, the means by which my work for the whole year will be assessed... I'm actually feeling pretty good about it! It's definetly better than my portfolio last year, which is always a good thing to be able to say. And I had enough work that had gone through seminar workshops to be able to pick and choose the best so, yes. *puts firmly out of her mind for now*
(Although I'm still pleased that I submitted the bible femslash with Lilith/Eve to the group - one of the guys even said the sex was very tastefully described XD)
Although I do have to thank Clow and Yuuko; writing Winter Retreat helped me break a very scary case of writers block. Probably because it was a no pressure, writing purely for fun thing - although the tropical dorkiness might have had something to do with it! ^.^ It's ironic, really; Clow and Yuuko are usually the pair I'm blocked on I've never really been able to write them before. But trust them to be contrary, right? *grin*

Date: 2006-05-12 01:53 pm (UTC)'Contrary' is too soft a word for Clow and Yuuko. I lost count of the times when I set out to write romance/angst and ended up with humour fics. Not that it's necessarilly a bad thing. :P
