Watching Transformers the Movie
Thank God for 80s power ballads. This would be so much more emotionally traumatic otherwise.
Although Prowl's internals exploding out of his mouth will never not be traumatic thank you. Did the makers like being cruel to small children?

Then you get the '86 movie. I was 11 when it came out, probably having the worst ever year of my life to that date....and they KILLED EVERYONE! Optimus and Starscream were my hands-down favorites, followed close by Bumblebee, and I lost 2 out of 3. Having already lost (or soon after, can't recall publishing dates) Bumblebee in a crossover comic horribly.
Me? I magic EVERYONE back to life, and have no trouble whatsoever for coming up with ways that even the Unicronian-changed ones can come back. Because I am still that kid who loved her Transformers.

*hugs you* I'm really, really glad I didn't watch it as a child!
It's like they went: 'Oh heyz new toyline = PROFIT! Must get rid off previous line in the sales making machine to free up advertising space.' And totally forgot that the entire point of the cartoon was to make children emotionally invested in the characters so they would BUY the damn toys. And traumitising your customer base maybe not the best idea!
Of course they all come back to life! Why would you say they don't come back to life? They all come back to life. ...I still have to watch the Zombie!Optimus ep DD:
